- Small Business made up 97% of all identified exporters
- Create more than 50% of nonfarm private Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
- 53% are HOME BASED
- 18.6 million of the total 25.8 million businesses in 2003 are without employees
- In 2005, there were about 670,000 new business established and 545,000 closure.
That is a staggering 80% failure rate.
- Reason for new business -Freedom for family life and be own boss.
- The research also quoted from another source that the Number 1 issue is COST!
- In a separate survey by ACNielsen commission by eBay on 400 small business revealed that more than 50% of the respondents indicated that the Internet has improved their profitability and helped their business to grow and expand.
